Tanagers no match for Trojans' attack pace with Parkston
The Vermillion Tanagers were downed by the Parkston Trojans 64-50 in boys basketball Jan. 4 at Parkston as the winners held the lead after each quarter.

"I was disappointed by our performance," said VHS coach Jason Huska. "We need to develop a winning attitude."

VHS lost the game from three-point range, making 1 of 7 from long range compared with 10 of 18 for Parkston.


The Tanagers fell behind 23-12 at the end of the first period, trailed 35-28 at halftime, and then trailed 53-40 going into the final period.

VHS saw its record fall to 3-4, while Parkston upped its mark to 7-0.

VHS made 8 of 13 free throw tries. The Tanagers hit 12 of 32 from the field, while Parkston was 21 of 42 from the field. The Trojans hit 12 of 22 free throw tries.
