"Crofton is a good team that played great," said VHS Coach Jamie Parish. "They caused us some problems with the press in the first half. Our kids need to make better decisions with the basketball.
"Between turnovers and offensive rebounds, we gave Crofton 38 extra possessions in the ball game. We will not win many games being on the wrong side of that statistic. We are still coming together as a team and improving but need to take some big steps in the next few weeks to be where we would like to be," he said.
The Tanagers jumped ahead 15-13 at the end of the first period, led 28-26 at halftime, and then led 38-30 going into the final period.
