USD women's distance medley relay breaks DakotaDome record
A record-breaking performance by The University of South Dakota women's distance medley squad highlighted several outstanding performances by the Coyote track and field teams at the Bill Hillenbrand Invitational which opened on Friday night at the DakotaDome.

The distance medley team broke a DakotaDome record with a clocking of 12:09.02 (Augustana, 12:11.65, 2005). The USD team consisted of senior Stephanie Gebhart (Elkton), sophomores Ramsey Kavan (Yankton) and Rosalie Brueske (Woonsocket) and freshman Emma Erickson (Gayville). The Coyote squad also recorded a provisional mark for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in March.

Also meeting a provisional mark for the NCAA Division II nationals was sophomore Dominic Artis (Brooklyn Park, MN), who won the men's 200-meter dash with a personal, indoor-best of 22.19.


South Dakota's Shaneaka Parkes (Jr., Brown's Town, Minard Hall, St. Ann, Jamaica), captured the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 26.48. USD's Jenessa Filler (Jr., Crooks) was third with a time of 26.66 in the 200-meter dash.
