Delicious, hearty, homemade soups prepared by area chefs will be one of the features at the Vermillion Area Arts Council's annual January Soup Supper. Bring the entire family to sample these flavorful soups.
This year, handmade bowls made by USD ceramic students will be available for purchase, with proceeds divided among the Student Art Association and the VAAC. Also for your visual pleasure, the mixed media works on the walls will be provided by local artists Sheridan Sogge and Nora Zeller.
This mid-winter feast will take place at 202 Washington Street, in Vermillion, the evening of Saturday, Jan. 19. The doors to the Washington Street Arts Center will open at 5:30 p.m. with the music provided by Kickland, Johnson and Martins. These local musicians will begin the entertainment at 6 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. Join your friends for the sampling of more than 10 different soups, artisan breads, and desserts donated by the generosity of local people. Traditional beverages will be sold on the premises for your dining pleasure. It will be a fun and delicious way to show your support for the arts.
This event is a fund raising effort sponsored by the Vermillion Area Arts Council. Tickets are available only at the door. The cost for members will be $10 per person/ $25 per family, for non-members $15 per person/$35 per family. Membership opportunities will be available for those who wish to support the VAAC as well as receive a discount at events like this.
