On Friday, Jan.25 the Vermillion Jaycees hosted a "Want More Money" seminar to inform people of the organization and how the Jaycees can help them earn more money. Twenty-two people attended the meeting including representation from the South Dakota Jaycees and United States Jaycees. During the meeting it was decided to donate $250 to the Megan O'Connor fundraiser. Members of the Jaycees presented the check to the O'Connor family during the fundraising auction that evening.
The Vermillion Jaycees will have their next meeting 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Vermillion Chamber office. Anyone of Jaycee age (between the ages of 18-40) are invited to attend. Agenda items include planning 2008 projects and training on how to write a business plan.
The Vermillion Junior Chamber, most commonly known as Vermillion Jaycees, was chartered in 1964. The Vermillion Jaycees is an organization of young people (men and women between the ages of 18-40) who learn leadership skills by running projects and attending trainings.
