Vermillion plans welcome for Sen. Tim Johnson Friday

U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) and his wife, Barbara, will join with Vermillion Mayor Dan Christopherson to hold a welcome home event at the Buffalo Run Winery on Friday, Jan. 4. The event begins at 1 p.m. with a program to start thereafter.

"Though I have been back to the state, I have not been able to make it to Vermillion yet," said Johnson. "Going back home and seeing the people that have defined my life is important to me, and I am looking forward to the event."

"This is a great opportunity to welcome Tim home," said Christopherson. "He is our native son, and we are thrilled to be hosting him in Vermillion."

The event is open to all Vermillion residents and South Dakotans as Johnson would like to thank them for their patience and support as they welcome him home.
