Local citizens may turn to the Vermillion Public Library to research information regarding two major energy-related projects being considered in eastern South Dakota.

The library has compiled information on the Hyperion Project and TransCanada Pipeline.

The files contain the complete Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit application filed by Hyperion Refining LLC. This is an application outlining the effect the project would have on air quality in the area.

Hyperion filed the 613-page application air permit application with the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources on Dec. 20,

The library has also assembled clippings of articles from local and national newspapers on the Union County "Gorilla" Project.

In addition, the files contain a map of the proposed Transcanada Keystone Crude Oil pipeline, which will run through the Midwest and into Texas.

The general public is invited to view this collection. For more information, please contact the Vermillion Public Library at 677-7060.
