The current exhibition in Sletwold Hall at the W. H. Over Museum in Vermillion features selected works of art from the museum's permanent collection.

As a natural and cultural history museum, the Over Museum has collected art work for many years. However, the museum's art has been largely overshadowed by its much larger and more systematic holdings in cultural history and the natural sciences.

Although art works have often been used as part of exhibits throughout the museum and special collections have been displayed, this is the first time in years that a cross-section of the museum's art collection has been on display.

The current exhibit features works by Oscar Howe and Bobby Penn, both of whom had a longstanding association with the museum, as well as WPA sponsored paintings, items from the Fallon collection, and works directly related to South Dakota and its people.
