Judy Satiroff died Jan. 24, 2008 at the Nebraska Medical Center after a two and one-half year illness. Judy was born Sept. 29, 1943 to the late Mike and Aileen Ryan O'Connor. She grew up in the Garryowen area and attended the country church and country school before graduating from Vermillion High School.

She then attended college in Springfield, where she met her husband. She married Dick Satiroff on May 30, 1964 in Garryowen and they moved to Omaha, NE, then relocated to California for four years. They returned to the Beresford area for 30 years until retiring to Omaha, NE, in 2002.

Judy was an active member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Beresford where she served on the altar society, Catholic Daughters and church choir. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses, one being the flower shop after she earned her floral design degree. After selling their businesses, she returned to USD and received her masters in education. She went on to teach in Sioux Falls and then Sioux City, IA, until illness forced her to retire.

Among those who survive and who gratefully shared her life are her husband Dick; their children and grandchildren, Janet and Roger Lunning, Alexandra, Matthew, Anna and Mason of Glenwood, IA, Jennifer Satiroff and Jessica of Omaha, NE, Donald and Jessica Satiroff, Joseph, Claire, Emma and Zackary of Tucson, AZ.

Also surviving Judy are two sisters, Audrey (Larry) Harris and Peggy (Steve) Donnelly; four brothers, Michael (Janelle), William (Paula), Harry (Candace) O'Connor and Tony (Debbie) Schneiders; a brother-in-law, Herman Johnson; beloved cousin, Patty James; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Aileen O'Connor; a brother, Donald; a sister, Connie Johnson; and two nephews, Michael and Ryan O'Connor.

A scriptural rosary was said Jan. 28 at the prayer service. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m., both at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Beresford. Interment was in the St. Mary Garryowen Cemetery.
