Savor the Arts event scheduled for Feb. 23
The public is invited to attend the Vermillion Area Art Council's Feb. 23 event called Savor the Arts, which will be held at the Washington Street Art Center at 202 Washington Street.

Featured at the special event will be an art auction, with a collection of pieces including water color paintings, prints, ceramics, cards, photography and much more. The art, submitted by area artists, as well as art students will be on display and available on silent bids.

The art auction is an opportunity for artists to sell their work, and reach potential patrons in the area. The artists are welcome to donate any portion of their earnings they wish back to the VAAC. Music provided by a University of South Dakota jazz group will entertain guests as they enjoy a buffet filled with cheese, fruit, hors d'oeurves and desserts.

A selection of wines will be available for sampling, donated by the Republic National Distributing Company. The door fee includes a generous sample of each wine. Visitors will be able to purchase additional glasses of their favorite wine throughout the evening.

This event starts at 7 p.m. and ends with the final bids around 9 p.m. This exclusive event is a savory treat for your senses. Where else but the art center are you able to enjoy art, music, food and drink for a small contribution of $15 per person for members and $20 per person for nonmembers?

Membership opportunities will be made available for those who wish to support the VAAC as well as receive a discount at other events like this.

This year, proceeds from the art auction will directly contribute to our ability to continue offering student scholarships, as well as purchase much needed equipment and supplies.
