This is the second time Baron has been honored at USD with the Jackson Award. He also received the award in 1995. Baron will receive a plaque and a cash award and his name will be inscribed on a plaque retained permanently in the Law School.
Established in 1981 through a gift by Horace and Dorothy Jackson of Rapid City, the Jackson Award recipient is chosen from nominations by students and faculty at the School of Law. Selection is based on criteria demonstrating excellence in the teaching of law, including effectiveness in the classroom; efforts to improve legal education in ways that serve the needs of the profession and of South Dakota; research and writing; contributions to the profession through public service; and contributions tothe academic environment of the law school.
