The show is the first of seven country music concerts announced for the spring at the smoke and alcohol-free musical venue.
"Hay Country Jamborees" are also scheduled May 10 and 31. Each show is a fast-paced presentation of traditional American country music, humor, and nostalgia featuring Gayville Hall regulars and guest artists like Bob and Sheila Everhart, the international old-time country stars from Iowa who will guest on May 31.
"A Celebration of Merle Haggard," which John McNeill has been trying to stage at Gayville for nearly a year, is April 26. Its scheduled debut last December was cancelled because of a snowstorm.
The stars of the show – Owen DeJong, Nick Schwebach and the McNeills – will perform Johnny Cash songs on May 17 and Hank Williams tunes on June 14 at other scheduled concerts, featuring many songs not included at earlier presentations.
The Poker Alice Band, led by Schwebach and DeJong, takes the stage on June 21 with Gayville Hall favorite, country singer Brenda George of Avon.
Gayville Hall is located at 502 Washington Street in Gayville. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $12.50 reserved. Call 605-267-2859.
