South Dakota Focus looks at proposed refinery The proposed Hyperion oil refinery for Southeastern South Dakota will be in the spotlight on South Dakota Public Broadcasting Televisionâ�?�?s SOUTH DAKOTA FOCUS. The program will be televised on Thursday, April 24, at 8 p.m., and with an encore showing at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27. The program will include Gov. Mike Rounds and both proponents and opponents of the refinery, proposed for Union County farmland along the I-29 corridor east of Vermillion and north of Elk Point. Guests include: â�?¢ Jason Quam â�?�? Save Union County, a group opposing the refinery. â�?¢ Ed Cable â�?�? Save Union County. â�?¢ Preston Phillips â�?�? representing Hyperion. â�?¢ J.B. Mercer â�?�? Citizens for Hyperion. â�?¢ Gov. Rounds. The program will include video of the proposed site and comments from citizens of Union County.
