South Dakota track team records three individual titles The University of South Dakota menâ�?�?s and womenâ�?�?s track and field team recorded three individual titles at the Nebraska Open in Lincoln, NE, on Sunday. Ramsey Kavan (So., Yankton) won the womenâ�?�?s 5,000-meter run with a clocking of 17:32.18 which is a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II outdoor nationals. Two menâ�?�?s team members also claimed titles. Dominic Artis (So., Brooklyn Park, MN) captured the 200-meter dash in :22.05 and also finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of :10.96. Josh Jeffery (Sr., Spearfish) picked up a win in the menâ�?�?s 800-meter run with a clocking of 1:55.19. In addition, USDâ�?�?s Amber Hegge (Fr., Crofton, NE) finished third in the womenâ�?�?s long jump with a provisional qualifying mark to nationals of 18'10.50. Other USD Womenâ�?�?s Highlights Two Coyotes placed in the top-seven in the hammer throw. Danielle Dornbusch (So., Papillion, NE) was fifth (151'05) while Amy Velthoff (So., Panama, IA) took seventh (141'08). Katie Cerling (Sr., Plymouth, MN) was sixth in the pole vault by going 11'01.75. USD had two of the top seven finishers in the 1,500-meter run as Allison Duba (Jr., Sioux Falls) was fourth (4:57.35) and Sarah Wickman (Fr., Iowa City, IA) was seventh (5:04.26). Haley Juhnke (Fr., Vivian) placed sixth (1:07.05) in the 400-meter hurdles and seventh (:15.43) in the 100-meter hurdles. Jessica Lundgren (Jr., Truman, MN) was fourth (20:09.20) in the 5,000-meter run. Other Coyote Menâ�?�?s Highlights Ben Oberle (Jr., Vermillion) finished third (:50.83) in the menâ�?�?s 400-meter dash while Sean Fitzsimmons (So., Yankton) was fifth (9:56.74) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the 1,500-meter run, Robert Gregoire (So., Wakonda) took sixth (4:08.93) while Matt Yaggie (Sr., Mission Hill) was third (16:20.50) in the 5,000-meter run. Colte Haines (Sr., White Lake) finished seventh (21'11) in the long jump while Ben Walters (Jr., Lennox) took eighth (168'08) in the menâ�?�?s hammer throw.
