A happy farewell By: David Lias A happy farewell Vermillion Elementary Principal Bob Bowker, seated in the easy chair, roars with laughter as two of his golfing buddies, Roger Heirigs and Jay Hennes, drive a golf cart on the stage of the Vermillion High School Auditorium to demonstrate how he will keep busy after this school year. At right is Casey O��?Connor, who also participated in Tuesday��?s skit at the high school to celebrate his career as an educator. The end of this school year marks the beginning of Bowker��?s retirement after serving 25 years as elementary principal. He was given a happy, grand and surprising farewell. He received a proclamation from Mayor Dan Christopherson, gifts of scrapbooks and golf equipment, and a song from Jolley Elementary students.
