City council
meets May 5 The Vermillion City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, in the Al Neuharth Media Center on the USD campus. New business on the council��?s agenda includes appointments to the library board of trustees and consideration of an application for a taxicab license from Interlink Shuttle Service. The council will also consider proposed ordinance 1185, deleting section 15-4 which prohibits peddlers and solicitors, and adding sections 15-86 through 15-103, which would establish definitions, fees, and licensing procedures for itinerant merchants, peddlers, and solicitors. Aldermen will also act on an engineering agreement for Phase 2 of improvements to the city��?s wastewater treatment facility.
