Cody Schroeder Cody Jacob Schroeder, 23, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Irene, died of natural causes Monday, May 26, 2008 at his home in Sioux Falls. Cody was born Jan. 29, 1985 to David and Sally (Hines) Schroeder in Sioux City, IA. Cody grew up on a farm outside of Irene. He loved hunting and fishing and trapping and riding his horses. He rode bulls in 4-H rodeo from ages 10-16. He played football, basketball, baseball and was a pole vaulter for the Irene track team in high school. Cody was a dedicated body builder and was committed to his weight training. Working on automobiles was his passion; he enjoyed body work. He attended Colorado Tech pursuing a criminal justice degree. He was a welder at Wheeler Tank Manufacturing. Cody had a strong faith in Jesus, he loved summers at Baptist Camp Judson, and prayer was his companion. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Viborg. He loved his family and friends, especially Kristen and his beloved dog, Rocky. He is survived by his daughter, Tara, Sioux Falls; his parents, David and Sally Schroeder, Irene; four brothers, Dustin, Clint, Tate, and Luke, Irene; dear friend Kristen Scissions, Sioux Falls; his grandfather, Dr. J. A. Hines, Oxford, WI; and many aunts and uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Genevieve Hines, and his grandmother and grandfather, Elizabeth and Henry Schroeder. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 30, at First Baptist Church in Viborg. Burial will follow in the Hansen Cemetery, rural Irene.
