It might as well be winter One?s thoughts usually turn to spring in South Dakota, especially in late April. The main concern this of this shopper, however, who left Vermillion?s Hy-Vee Food Store with two bags of groceries Friday afternoon, was to get to his car as quickly as possible. A winter storm, with strong winds and big, wet snowflakes, made outdoor work and travel miserable in the area. In areas north and west of Vermillion, which received more snow, schools were let out early, and authorities eventually had to briefly close Interstate 29 from Brookings to the North Dakota border.
