Recent donations aid United Way campaign United Way of Vermillion has reached its 2008 fund-raising campaign of $95,000 according to Deb Christensen, United Way of Vermillion Board President. Christensen, of the Bank of the West, said ?I am very pleased to announce that our 2008 fund drive has been extremely successful. She continued ?While we have met our 2008 goal our Board wants to exceed it and our efforts will continue for several more months. Recent contributions have come from a variety of sources including the local HyVee, the Sanford Medical Center, and from a group of University of South Dakota students called Coyoteopoly. Christensen went on to explain that while all contributions are very important the Coyoteopoly donation was significant. The Coyoteopoly donation came as a result of fund-raising activities conducted by a group of 85 USD business students during the recent spring semester. The Coyoteopoly contribution of over $12,000 will be used to grow the United Way?s Imagination Library program. ?It is so gratifying to have these USD students so involved with United Way of Vermillion and their efforts are truly appreciated said Christensen. ?We are very pleased with the support from throughout Vermillion and Clay County Christensen continued. She added ?The donations we have received from HyVee and from Sanford Medical Center are indicative of the overwhelming support United Way continues to receive and it speaks well of our community she concluded.
