Recent donations aid United Way campaign

Recent donations aid United Way campaign United Way of Verm-illion has reached its 2008 fund-raising campaign of $95,000 according to Deb Christensen, United Way of Vermillion Board Pres-ident. Christensen, of the Bank of the West, said â�?�?I am very pleased to announce that our 2008 fund drive has been extremely successful.â�? She continued â�?�?While we have met our 2008 goal our Board wants to exceed it and our efforts will continue for several more months.â�? Recent contributions have come from a variety of sources including the local HyVee, the Sanford Medical Center, and from a group of University of South Dakota students called Coyoteopoly. Christensen went on to explain that while all contributions are very important the Coyoteopoly donation was significant. The Coyoteopoly donation ca-me as a result of fund-raising activities conducted by a group of 85 USD business students during the recent spring semester. The Coyoteopoly contribution of over $12,000 will be used to grow the United Wayâ�?�?s Imagination Library program. â�?�?It is so gratifying to have these USD students so involved with United Way of Vermillion and their efforts are truly appreciatedâ�? said Chris-tensen. â�?�?We are very pleased with the support from throughout Vermillion and Clay Countyâ�? Christensen continued. She added â�?�?The donations we have received from HyVee and from Sanford Medical Center are indicative of the overwhelming support United Way continues to receive and it speaks well of our communityâ�? she concluded.
