Save Union County will host meeting An informational forum sponsored by the Save Union�? County Ballot Question Committee will be held from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Dakota Valley Elementary School in McCook Lake.�? The public is invited for a free lunch and an opportunity to have their questions answered by a series of experts with knowledge on the proposed oil refinery and IGCC power plant that is to be part of the rezoning issue on the June 3 ballot in Union County. Speakers will include the James Hoefelmeyer, PhD, assistant professorof chemistry at USD, Dean Spader, PhD, professor emeritus political science at USD, Mary Jo Stueve of South Dakota Clean Water, and Juliana Williams who is the Midwest Organizer for the Sierra Club Student Coalition.�? While the speakers will all be available for individual conversations in the morning and during lunch, which will be served from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., each presentation in the afternoon will be followed by a question and answer period to assure the public that the responses may be heard by all present. This is the second in a series of informational forums to be sponsored by SUCBQC in an effort to allow public access to any resources they desire to assist them in making an informed choice on the June 3 ballot.�? Last week��?s meeting in Beresford was the first in a series of meetings that will include similar ones in Alcester next week and Spink on May 31.
