Vermillion 57069 Have you wished for a place, comfortable and quiet, to take a friend or two, to morning coffee, tea (hot or cold) or hot chocolate and a choice of donuts, bars or cookies?�? The Vermillion Senior Citizens Service Center at 320 W. Main St., is the place!�? We are open 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. On a warm morning you could even sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful south lawn. The Center would welcome you for lunch. You need not have â�?�?silver threadsâ�? or be 55 years of age!�? Call 624-7868 before 9 a.m. for reservations and indicate the number coming for lunch. The â�?�?Lunch Bunchâ�? begins trickling in about 11:30 a.m. with lunch being served beginning at 12 p.m.�? You may choose to come on a day when there is a 10 minute sing-a-long, with Max at the piano and Betty as your director, or join us on Wednesday for Senior Quiz Bowl with Carol, or Friday when all wear red to honor our military.�? A business meeting group of not more than 15 can reserve a room and enjoy lunch. Call 624-8072 and talk to Crystal, Senior Center Director. The Center offers many activities for you to choose.�? Cards, dominoes, computers, line dancing, hairpin lace crochet instruction (beginners welcome) or an ongoing jigsaw puzzle. Or just sit and read the newspaper or a magazine. The Center asks that you be a member to participate in activities, only $20.00 a year or life membership only $175.00.�? What a unique gift this would make for your loved one! This week our scheduled event is a potluck supper followed by penny bingo plus a few games of white elephant bingo. Our potlucks usually begin around 5:15 p.m. and are followed by cards or bingo.�? �? Coming events â�?�? June 5 at 10:30 a.m. speaker on Reverse Home Mortgages from Wells Fargo.�? The second Sunday of every month is Pancake Sunday, so stop by on June 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for the best pancakes and sausages to be found.�? We are looking for volunteers to help cook and serve for our hamburger and brat cookout one evening in early June. Volunteers and guests are always welcome.
