The Bluffs Bulletin Board Seniors will soon play in mornings When this article appears in the newspaper, the senior golfers will start playing at 9 a.m. for the first time on May 27. Today?s weather was windy and cold, however, 27 turned out. The best score was a 35 carded by the team of Jerry Sommervold, Dick Burbach and Vern Holter. Second place at 36 were Ross King, Elmer Mount and Mo Marcotte. King thrilled his team with a ?chip in on hole #18. Taking third place with a 37 was the team of Ron Steckelberg, Al Clem and Dick Kellogg. Jim Grabowski, who is a visually challenged golfer, had a remarkable shot to announce. Jim depends on his teammates to line up his golf shots. Anyway, after getting lined up for a putt on hole #10, Jim drops a 48? birdie putt. Even for us who have perfect vision, that feat is very tough to accomplish (atta boy, Jim). In the two against two competition, the team of Don Baer and Milo Gilbertson won their match while the team of Turk Pilker and Bob Lund defeated their opponents. We seniors enjoy golf and we also enjoy each other. Maybe that is why we are called the fun league.
