Tree planting

Tree planting Vermillion second graders and their teachers helped members of the Vermillion Garden Club plant a flowering crab apple tree in Prentis Park Tuesday. The new tree honors the memory of Vermillion Parks Department employee Greg Conrad, who passed away Feb. 7, 2007. For many years, Greg helped both the students and the garden club with tree plantings throughout the city. This event was originally scheduled for April 25, which was Arbor Day, but had to be postponed because of winter weather. (Photo by David Lias)
