Arnold M. Sveeggen Funeral services for Arnold M. Sveeggen were Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Roseni Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Visitation was Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. The family requests memorials to the Roseni Mission Fund. Arnold M. Sveeggen was born Feb. 22, 1932 to Sigvald and Hannah (Isakson) Sveeggen in Union County on his parent��?s farm. He died May 31, 2008 in Sioux Falls at the age of 76 years, three months and nine days. Arnold attended Nora Country School and graduated from Alcester High School. He served in the US Army and was stationed at Camp Hamford in Washington. Arnold married Twila Rusten on Aug. 18, 1956. After his discharge, he returned home to his farm which he farmed all his life. He was a lifelong member of Roseni Lutheran Church and was active in many church and community organizations. Arnold is survived by his wife, Twila; son, Allen of Alcester; daughters, Carol (Paul) Reynen of Sioux Falls, Anita (Glenn) Nelson of Meckling, Denise (Lou) Gertsman of Beresford, Sharon (Dan) Rykhus of Sioux Falls and Lois (Todd) Tunell of Highlands Ranch, CO. He has 15 grandchildren, Sam Anderson; Beth and Mikayla Sveeggen; Nate (Jill), John (Molly) and Drew Reynen; Mary, Nicki and Anthony Nelson; Cody and Justin Nielsen; Austin, David and Ryan Rykhus and Tyler Tunell. Arnold is also survived by his brother, Leroy and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one sister, and one granddaughter, Kara Elise Nelson preceded him in death.
