Ice Cream Jazz Fest in Yankton June 25 The Ice Cream Jazz Fest, formerly the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary Ice Cream Social, is taking on a new look in 2008. The new, exciting evening will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25. The evening will feature two hours of great jazz music presented by Jazz Portraits, a five-piece jazz ensemble from Vermillion Jazz Portraits will features classics by composers such as Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk, along with jazz standards by great American songwriters like Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Tickets for the event are only $5 in advance or $6 at the gate with all proceeds benefiting the â�?�?Respect for Life Memorialâ�? at Sacred Heart Cemetery â�?�? the auxiliaryâ�?�?s 2008 project. For the price of admission you get a hot dog, chips, refreshments, ice cream with toppings, and two hours of some great jazz music. Silent Auction This yearâ�?�?s selection of silent auction packages is bigger than ever â�?�? beautiful vacation packages, some great ways to dress up the house, and even some guy packages that are sure to please.
