Saub will appear on NO COVER, NO MINIMUM Saturday Chris Saub, a singer, songwriter who hails from Omaha, NE, will appear on South Dakota Public Television��?s music show, NO COVER, NO MINIMUM on Saturday, June 28. His performance will be broadcast at 10 p.m. Saub taped his performance on May 9 in the SDPB television studio in the Al Neuharth Media Center on The University of South Dakota campus. Scott Hurowitz is hoping that people from the Vermillion area take advantage of the chance to hear Saub perform. Hurowitz, president of the management firm All Night Entertainment, finds himself in the enviable position of managing Saub��?s career. ��?When you are managing new artists, you look for any opportunity,� Hurowitz, a former Vermillion man who is putting his experience as a former west coast music producer to good use here in South Dakota. Saub has produced six CDs, and Hurowitz is hoping to better his career. ��?We��?ve gotten a lot of terrific publicity, and we��?ve gotten bigger shows and helped his career grow,� Hurowitz said. Hurowitz first saw and heard Saub live on stage at the Omaha Ribfest. ��?I contacted him, and signed him to a personal management contract last August,� Hurowitz said. Hurowitz and a partner are in the process of ��?shopping� Saub to major labels and publishers in both Los Angeles and New York.��? That ��?shopping� experience will only be enhanced by Saub��?s upcoming performances on NO COVER, NO MINIMUM. ��?You get a copy of the raw footage (of the program) that you can copy or use as is, and I��?m hoping that it will turn out great,� Hurowitz said. ��?This will be the record companies��? opportunity to see Chris perform.� Saub, known as ��?the hardest working man in Omaha,� was voted #1 Artist in Omaha by MTV 2��?s ��?On the Rise� campaign in the spring of 2007. In the spring of 2005 Saub was a regional finalist on CBS��?s Rockstar INXS TV show. He earned two nominations as Best Singer Songwriter and Best Adult Alternative Artist for the Omaha Entertainment Awards in 2006 and 2007. Vermillion area residents will have an opportunity to see and hear him perform live later this year. He is booked to appear at Raziel��?s in downtown Vermillion on Friday, Sept. 26. Saub will perform there from 9 a.m. until midnight. Saub has been compared to such musical artists as David Gray, James Blunt, John Mayer, Five for Fighting, and Dave Matthews.
