Main St., Vermillion 57069 Gorgeous home grown flowers have been appearing on the tables at the center. Thanks to Max, Reidella, Ray, Betty, Nila and others for filling the vases with fresh smelling and beautiful flowers. A preview of the The Taffetas, a musical by USD, was presented at the center one day before lunch, WOW â�?�? great performance. We also enjoyed an 85th birthday open house for Lorraine (Eric-kson) Zeller sponsored by her family.�? This past Tuesday, a group gathered to make homemade cards for the forty (40) plus veterans of the Human Services Cen-ter in Yankton. A great way to show support for their service to our country. �? �? �? Daily activities for the summer: Tuesday morning Line Dancing at 9:30 a.m.; Thursday Morning Walks at 9:15 a.m. and Hair Pin Lace Crochet on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Chair exercises will begin on Thursday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Other activities: Dominoes at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday & Thursday; Pinochle at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday; and Bridge at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and the first and third Thursdays of the month.�? Board puzzles are always a daily challenge plus members can exchange books, magazines and puzzles anytime. Starting in July is â�?�?create a craftâ�?.�? Participants will be making a garden basket with brown grocery bags, twine, and some flower decorations. A sample is on display at the center. The center still has some dolls and clothing that need taken home and dressed up so they can be returned to the Civic Council for sale. Donâ�?�?t forget to make a reservation for the delicious noon meals provided at the center Monday through Friday by Dakota Senior Meals.�? Donation for individuals 60 and older or $6 for others.�? Please call a day in advance (preferred) or no later than 9:30 a.m. the day of to reserve a noon meal.�? The nutrition program thanks the many volunteers that deliver meals in Vermillion. �? �? �? Coming Events at the Center include end of the month card party on Monday, June 30 at 12:45 p.m.; Wednesday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. plan to join us for brats or hamburger, salad, beans, and ice cream â�?�? open to the public; Sunday, July 13 Pancake Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., public always welcome.�? Plan to join us, good time to meet and greet friends. In August, plan to attend the annual ice cream social including pies, desserts and of course a sandwich with salads and more â�?�? open to the public. Then on Aug. 22 SHIINE (Senior Health Information and Insurance Education will be at the center to discuss and answer questions on Medi-care 101 at 2 p.m.�? To participate in any of the activities or events, just stop at the center office with your $20 annual membership fee.
