Small business workshop offered in Yankton June 25 A workshop being held in Yankton next week will offer helpful information to new or smaller businesses.�?  The workshop is sponsored jointly by the South Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation, the South Dakota Department of Labor, the Small Business Development Center and the Small Business Administration. The one-day session is scheduled for June 25 in the Community Room at the Regional Technical Education Center, 1200 W. 21st Street. The workshop will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is on your own from 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. The workshop agenda includes a discussion by the Department of Revenue and Regulation on sales, use and contractors' excise taxes; the Department of Labor will cover labor and employment laws, wages and hours, unemployment insurance tax, unemployment insurance benefits, and the state's worker's compensation law; and the Small Business Development Center and Small Business Administration will update attendees about their no-cost, business consulting services for new and existing businesses.
