Carla Schlegel

Carla Schlegel Open house planned An open house honoring Carla (Sorensen) Schlegel on her 90th birthday will be held on July 27 at Village on the Green in Longwood, FL. Hosting the event will be the families of her niece, Nancy (Sorensen) Clark of Pochohantas, IA, and nephews, Kirk Sorensen of Vermillion and Scot Sorensen of Yankton. Mrs. Schlegel was born and raised on a farm west of Vermillion. She attended Busy Bend country school and Vermillion High School. She graduated from The University of South Dakota before moving to Chicago. She returned to USD where she was the personal secretary for then president of USD, I.D. Weeks.
