Brown Bag Lunch Programs are free and open to the public. They begin at 12:05 and end at 12:55 p.m. Guests are invited to bring a brown bag lunch. â�?¢ Hy-Vee is hosting Vermillionâ�?�?s 2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Championship on Saturday, July 26 at 11a.m. at Hy-Vee. There will be both a menâ�?�?s and womenâ�?�?s division with prizes of $100 for champions and $50 for second place for both divisions. Free hot dogs for kids 10 and under. The VCDC is hosting their annual member golf social on Tuesday, July 29 Registration starts at noon and the four-person scramble begins at 1 p.m. at The Bluffs Golf Course. If members are still interested in donating raffle or pin prizes or having a team they can contact the VCDC. Come join in a day of golf, food and socializing! â�?¢ Travelerâ�?�?s Breakfast â�?�? The Vermillion Lions Club is holding their annual Travelerâ�?�?s Breakfast from July 31 through Aug. 3. The event is being held at the I-29 Rest Area (just east of Vermillion) from 7a.m. until noon each day. â�?¢ Bike MS: Pedal the Plains Ride 2008 â�?�? The North Central States Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is seeking volunteers, sponsors and goodie bag donations for the Bike MS: Pedal the Plains Ride 2008 on Aug. 2 & 3. Five-hundred bikers will arrive on Aug. 2 from Sioux Falls in Vermillion for an overnight stop. If you would like to participate please contact Angie Wilken at 624-6534.
