Eagle Scout Court of Honor held May 25 The Sioux Council of Boy Scouts of America Troop 66 of Vermillion, held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Richie Knutson Sunday, May 25. The ceremony was conduced at St. Agnes Church in Vermillion. The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve. To obtain the rank of an Eagle Scout a Boy Scout needs to complete 21 merit badges and organize and complete a community service project. Richieâ�?�?s community service project was providing protective poles in front of the meters for the natural gas pipes at St. Agnes School. Andrew Knutson was the master of ceremonies for the Eagle Scout program. The invocation was given by Father Rod Farke. The guest speaker was Dr. Matthew Knutson. The Trail to Eagle and the presentation of the Eagle Scout award was performed by district commissioner of the Lewis and Clark Trails District of the Sioux Council, Tony Nelson. With this ceremony, Richie Knutson joins two of his older brothers at the rank of Eagle Scout. Dr. Matthew Knutson achieved rank of Eagle Scout in 1994. Andrew Knutson achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2002. Richie is the son of Dr. Richard and Virginia Knutson of Vermillion. Troop 66 of Vermillion is celebrating its 80th year. Richie is the 55th scout to reach the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 66.
