Fly flags at half staff Friday Gov. Mike Rounds is asking that all flags in the state be flown at half staff on Friday, July 25, from 8 a.m. until sunset in honor of Staff Sgt. Jeremy Dale Vrooman, age 28, of Sioux Falls, who died Tuesday, July 15, from wounds received when an improvised explosive device exploded while his squad was conducting combat operations near Kn?an, Iraq. Gov. Rounds asks South Dakota citizens to remember Sgt. Vrooman?s bravery and sacrifice when they see the flag at half staff on Friday. He also asks that South Dakotans keep Sgt. Vrooman?s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Burial and full military honors will be held Friday, July 25, at 9 a.m., at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 16 in the Sioux Falls area.
