second string back for BC Lions BC Lions head coach Wally Buono has announced that Stefan Logan, the all-time leading rusher at The University of South Dakota, was named the second string running back for the team?s season opener on Thursday, June 26 at Calgary. In addition to his duties at running back, Logan is also the team?s top reserve returning kickoffs and punts. ?It feels pretty good to have this opportunity with the Lions, said Logan. ?I met with coach Buono after our final preseason game against Calgary and he told me that he was impressed with my running style. He feels that I will be a good addition to the team and that even though I?m small, I?m a tough runner. In his four-year career at USD, Logan (2003-06) compiled one of the greatest offensive careers in school history. He holds the Coyote career record for all purpose yards and rushing yards. He finished his career with 8,459 all purpose yards and he had 5,958 rushing yards. In fact, his 5,958 career rushing yards alone rank him first in career all purpose yards. During his career he scored 35 touchdowns, which is the third highest total in school history. Logan also placed his name in the NCAA and NCC record books. He is sixth in career all purpose yards in NCAA Division II and is 11th in career rushing yards. Logan is also the only player in the history of the NCC to rush for 1,000 yards in four-straight seasons.
