USD athletic staffers
receive legacy award The North Central Conference (NCC) has announced that six members of The University of South Dakota athletic department received the NCC Legacy Award at the NCC Celebration Dinner Saturday, June 21 at the Ramkota Hotel in Sioux Falls. The NCC Legacy Award was created in the league��?s final year to honor NCC personnel who achieved a long-term and successful record of service to the North Central Conference. Each campus submitted nominees to the NCC selection committee. Selections were made from administrators, coaches and staff that were employed by their respective campuses at the beginning of the school year. USD��?s recipients include men��?s basketball head coach Dave Boots, head athletic trainer Bruce Fischbach, men��?s track and field head coach Dave Gottsleben, women��?s track and field head coach Lucky Huber, men��?s and women��?s cross country head coach Rob Kinnunen and women��?s basketball head coach Chad Lavin. The University of South Dakota will begin its first year of transition to NCAA Division I in 2008-09.
