Wireless World 48 hours of Baseball was a huge hit â�?�?The Wireless World 48 hours of Baseball held this weekend with the Sioux Falls Canaries was a Grand Slam,â�? Vince Lubben stated. Lubben is co-owner of Wireless World, which sponsored the unprecedented event. When asked why Wireless World got involved in such an event there are 4 main reasons, according to Lubben: 1. Itâ�?�?s the Network. Verizon Wireless has the most reliable network which was capable of Broadcasting the games for 48 straight hours. 2. Itâ�?�?s about the communities that we serve and giving back to them. This was an awesome opportunity for the young kids to play at the Birdcage, get their picture on the big screen and their name announced over the loudspeaker like a Big Leaguer. 3. Itâ�?�?s the People. We are celebrating that Wireless World has some of the best employees in the industry and Celebrating our Customers with Wireless World Customer appreciation day on Sunday. 4. Itâ�?�?s the event of the summer. Itâ�?�?s 48 hours of Baseball! Unreal! One lucky fan won an all expense paid trip to the Minnesota Twins Spring Training in Florida next year, an LG Voyager phone, and a suite for the Canaries game next year. He and 5 others stayed at the event for the full 48 hours and participated in contests to determine the final winner at the end. His prize is valued at over a $2000. Matt Meola broadcasted the games for 48 straight hours over the internet. Sunday was the Wireless World Series of Text Messaging. Alex Smith from Mitchell was the fastest text messenger winning an LG Voyager phone. Second place winner was Amy Sternhagen, from Sioux Falls, who won an LG enV2 phone.
