Antique tractor and 50?s classic car show at the State Fair Nostalgia and old memories are easily revived when we see classic cars and antique tractors. The South Dakota State Fair invites car and tractor buffs to bring their favorite treasures on wheels to the Centennial Stage where the music and the memories will roll on. Saturday, Aug. 30, is the date for an ?All 50?s Day at the Centennial Stage. The SD State Fair invites you to bring out your 1950?s model classic car and take part in the 1950?s classic car show. As an extra attraction to the car show, Sherwin Linton and the Cotton Kings will host the ?All South Dakota Class of 1958 50th Reunion at 2 p.m. There will be a 1950?s theme music show and historical Rock-N-Roll tribute to the songs of Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and other 50?s icons. ?We are inviting Class of 1958 grads to join us for a great afternoon of music and memories. You might just find yourself dancing the jitter bug again, Linton said. With classic cars and music, plus a trivia contest, it will be an exciting and memorable day. On Sunday, Aug. 31, the South Dakota State Fair invites proud owners of antique tractors to bring those famous work horses to the fair and display them in the Centennial Stage area. Linton and his band will start the day?s entertainment at 11 a.m., with an old time gospel music program. ?We?re also going to sing some tractor songs that afternoon. said Linton. Both shows will begin at 10 a.m. and wrap up at 5 p.m. First, second, and third place people?s choice trophies will be awarded to the winners of each contest. All participants bringing classic cars or antique tractors will receive two complimentary gate passes to attend the fair.
