Bikers head
to Elk Point Big Friend-Little Friend, Inc. of Clay and Union County, is hosting its 11th annual bike ride, which begins at Elk Point on Saturday, Aug. 16. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the ride starts at 9 a.m. The Elk Point Lions Club is serving a delicious pancake/sausage breakfast just across the street from 7 to 11:30 a.m., so come early for a great meal. All the routes are on blacktop, and vary from eight to 55 miles in length. There is a color map of the routes and elevations, and all corners are�? well marked. The ride�? starts at the National Guard Armory, located on exit 18 off I-29, and walk-ins are welcome. The registration form is available for download at www.bflfmentoring.org, at the www.bikeiowa.org Web site, and at Elk Point businesses. All proceeds support�? the youth mentoring program in Clay and Union counties.
