Carroll (C.J.) Jensen Carroll (C.J.) Jensen, 85, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Aug. 9, 2008, at his home. Services were 10 a.m. on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Steve Bibb officiating. Interment was in the BluffsView Cemetery in Vermillion, at 4:30 p.m. Visitation was Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. C.J. is survived by his children, their spouses and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Donna, and his parents. Carroll Jean Jensen, the son of Henry and Martha (Peters) Jensen, was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Sioux Falls. He graduated from Sioux Falls Washington High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant during World War II, receiving his navigator wings in 1943 and bombardier wings in 1944. C.J. also served as a navigation instructor prior to his discharge and served with the merchant marines. Following his discharge, C.J. attended the Rapid City School of Mines and received a B.S. degree from The University of South Dakota at Vermillion in 1953. On Aug. 11, 1951, C.J. was united in marriage to Sara Donna Macy in Vermillion. The couple moved to Fort Dodge in 1960, and he was employed with the General Adjustment Bureau for 32 years before retiring in 1985. C.J. was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Incense Lodge #2 at Vermillion. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Za Ga Zig Shriner of Des Moines. He was a 50-year member of the OES Chapter 44 of Vermillion. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
