Clubs and Organizations Sons of Norway meets Lillehammer Lodge #1-633, Sons of Norway, met on July 15 at the Gavins Point Lookout on the Nebraska side of the Gavins Point Dam. President Joanne Christensen led the group in reciting the Norwegian table prayer, as a start to learning this so all members will take part in this part of each meeting. The group then enjoyed a pot-luck supper which included three guests. President Joanne reminded members of upcoming events in the area and of next month��?s meeting which will be held at Christ the King Church on Aug. 19. The meeting will include a program by Engineer Robert Weibelhaus, reporting on the Discovery Bridge under construction between South Dakota and Nebraska. After the picnic meal, Karla Zeutenhorst, park ranger for the Gavins Point area, gave a talk on the history of the river area and led into a talk on the development of the dams on the Missouri River, especially the local Gavins Point Dam. Several members recalled their memories of the construction period and all enjoyed the information given. Ranger Zeutenhorst has been at this post for five years and encourages the public to visit the visitors center that is open every day.
