at Spirit Mound Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve is sponsoring a hike at Spirit Mound on Aug. 25. Participants will walk in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark, stroll through the prairie grass and discover the wildlife that call that area home. The hike will begin at 6:30 p.m. Adams Homestead will also sponsor a monarch butterfly tagging program at the Spirit Mound Historic Prairie on Thursday, Aug. 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monarchs make an incredible journey to Mexico late summer and early fall.�?  Learn about the research done on monarchs while tagging them before their long trip to the south. Please call (605) 232-0873 to pre-register for either the hike or the monarch tagging or both. �?  Spirit Mound is located six miles north of Vermillion, SD on Hwy 19.
