Life will be sweet on Cherry Street Construction Update Workers from D&G Concrete Construction, Inc. and other contractors completed the following work on the Cherry Street reconstruction project last week: â�?¢ Street light conduit from Jefferson Street to Brooks Street. â�?¢ Concrete paving, approaches and sidewalk complete from north side of Plum Street to east end. â�?¢ Removals, storm sewer and sanitary services from Plum Street to Jefferson Street, south side. â�?¢ Sanitary sewer from Rose Street to Ratingen Street. â�?¢ Street light bases from Jefferson Street to Brooks Street. â�?¢ Temporary traffic signals for pedestrian crossing. â�?¢ Remove signals at Ratingen and replace with temporary stop sign. Work planned for next week includes: â�?¢ Remove concrete from Jefferson Street to east end, south side and storm sewer. â�?¢ Traffic switched on Monday to north side on new pavement. â�?¢ Concrete paving south side of Plum Street to Jefferson Street. Miscellaneous: â�?¢ As concrete paving begins, expect limited access for short periods. â�?¢ Speed limit is 25 mph through the construction project. Speeding violations are and will continue to be issued during the construction season by the Vermillion Police Department. Speed violation fines double in work zone. â�?¢ Do not add, remove or relocate barrels, barricades, signs, temporary business signs, etc. on the construction site. If concerns arise, please contact D&G Concrete Construction or the DOT for evaluation. â�?¢ Temporary driveways are being constructed. If anyone has any concerns about the driveway or problems with semi deliveries, please contact the DOT and other arrangements can be discussed. â�?¢ No parking on Princeton Street from Cherry Street to the Pamida entrance. â�?¢ Updates on construction progress and changes will be available on our Web site: dgconcrete.com.
