Rose Bietz

Rose Bietz Rose Bietz, 98, of Vermillion passed away at Sanford Vermillion Care Center, Vermillion on Aug. 19, 2008. Funeral services will be at the First American Lutheran Church in Tripp on Friday, Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Gracehill Cemetery in Tripp. Visitation was at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, with a prayer services at 7 p.m. at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion. Rose was born in Bon Homme County near Tripp to George and Christina (Finck) Dewald on Aug. 7, 1910. She was baptized at Immanuel Creek Reformed Church in Tripp and confirmed on July 5, 1925 at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp by Rev. Zogg. Rose attended county school at Dewald School District #82. She married Art H. Bietz on Feb. 12, 1933 at the Immanuel Creek Reformed Church in Tripp by Rev. K.J. Stuebbe. Art and Rose farmed in the Tripp area for many years, retiring in 1969, and then moving in to town in 1972. They were members of First American Lutheran Church where Rose was a member of the Women��?s Guild. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting, embroidering and quilt making. Her children and grandchildren were the recipients of many of her hobbies. She also did volunteer work at the Good Samaritan Home. In the year 2000 she moved from her home to the Sanford Vermillion Care Center in Vermillion. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, three sisters, one son, Willis and one grandchild. Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters; Shirley Huber (Bill) of Vermillion, Carol Stoebner (Joe) of Eden Prairie, MN and one son, Ken Bietz (Laurie) of Blaine, MN; three grandsons; five granddaughters; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
