SHIINE to offer free seminars in Vermillion Senior Health Information and Insurance Education (SHIINE) is offering free seminars in many South Dakota communities now through October 2008. Presentations by SHIINE Director Toy Hoy include:�? Medicare 101 and Retirement Enrichment.�? Medicare 101 is aimed at helping people nearing Medicare eligibility age (65), those currently on Medicare, or caregivers of Medicare beneficiaries to better understand what services are covered and how services are paid. The seminar also includes information about Medicareâ�?�?s preventive benefits and about extra help, a program that further lowers the cost of Part D (drug) insurance and medications for eligible beneficiaries. The Retirement Enrichment seminar is geared for people of many ages. Persons in their 30s and 40s who have not yet started to think about planning for retirement and people in their 50s, 60s and better who have perhaps begun thinking about retirement but are not sure about how to plan for it, may find the information helpful. Those enjoying retirement may find ways to make it more enjoyable and meaningful. Topics covered include:�? Work Reorientation; Attitudes & Change; Health Issues; Financial Security; Leisure Interests; Family & Relationships, and Life Satisfaction. The seminar further discusses why retirement planning is a smart choice for focusing oneâ�?�?s time and talents, financial security, choices, health, meaning, and fulfillment. Presentations will be made on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Vermillion Senior Center, 320 West Main St.�? Medicare 101 will begin at 2 p.m. and Retirement Enrichment will follow at 3:30 p.m.�?
