The Bluffs Bulletin Board W.E.L.L wraps up 2008 season Wednesday, Aug. 20 was the last night of competition for the league in 2008. It was a tight race to determine the final standings. Coming out strong was Jenny Chandler who had the low gross score of 40. Hot on her heels was Mary Gauer, whose team was vying to move from second to first in the standings. Mary shot a 41. Working hard to keep the number one spot, Jennifer Steele birdied #12 with a tremendous 36-foot putt. Keeping pace, and playing against Jennifer?s team was Rhonda Grant who birdied #17 with a chip in from the left rough approximately halfway to the green. Two other golfers birdied #12 this night: Mona Bye and Peggy Donnelly. When the dust settled, Birdie Bound regained the first place position they maintained most of the season. Congratulations to Mary, Joanne, Ruby and Jane. Winning the Quackson was Rhonda Grant. Elections for next season were also held. A unanimous ballot was cast (if we had actually taken a vote it would have been unanimous) for the following slate: President ? Ann Jensen; Vice-President ? Mary Ellen Jensen; Treasurer ? Susan Oberle; Secretary ? Joni Hook. Remaining as our ever faithful numerical wizard is Darlis LaBahn. A golfer?s diet: Live on greens as much as possible.
