USD soccer team drops season-opener The University of South Dakota dropped its first game of the season in a 4-0 decision to Creighton University at the USD soccer field on Friday. The game marked the season opener for both teams. USD falls to 0-1 on the season and Creighton now posts a 1-0 record. The Coyotes held the Bluejays scoreless in the first 33 minutes of play but in the 34th minute CUâ�?�?s Marcy Gans was able tap in a goal which was deflected off a USD defender.�? Creighton went into halftime holding a 2-0 lead after Nicole Delue scored in the 39th minute. In the second half, Creighton scored two more goals as, Mary Zapapas scored in the 48th minute and Delue added her second goal of the game in the 60th minute. USDâ�?�?s Ann Opsahl played all 90 minutes in goal as she recorded eight saves.�? The Coyotes finished the game with seven shots and two shots on goal.�? Sarah Halbach (Sr., F, St. Paul, MN) recorded one shot on goal while Angela Oâ�?�?Loughlin had the other shot on goal. The Coyote soccer team will be back in action on Friday, Aug. 29 as they travel to Laramie, WY to face the University of Wyoming at 5 p.m.
