Anderson-Kahl member of Luther football team Alex Anderson-Kahl, a 2008 graduate of Vermillion High School, is a member of the Luther College football team. A three-year letter winner in football and track while at Vermillion High School is listed as a linebacker. The Norse are coached by Mike Durnin who begins his first season at the helm of the football program. â�?�?I am truly excited to serve Luther College as head football coach,â�? commented Durnin. â�?�?The skyâ�?�?s the limit for this program and I look forward to the challenges and excitement the 2008 campaign will bring.â�? Coach Durnin inherits a team that returns 29 letter winners, 13 on both sides of the football, plus three on special teams and posted a record of 5-5 last season. Durnin takes over the Norse program with 20 years of collegiate coaching experience, the last seven as the defensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. During this time, the Eagles made four trips to the NCAA Division III National playoffs. Luther will begin the 2008 football season at home Sept. 6, when the Norse will host St. Olaf College in Carlson Stadium at 1 p.m. Anderson-Kahl is the son of Ed Anderson and Julie Kahl of Vermillion.
