Bennett claims individual title at Augustana invite Brett Bennett, a senior on The University of South Dakota men��?s golf team, finished with a two-round total of 142 to win the individual title at the Augustana Fall Invitational Monday at the Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls. Bennett (Sr., Sioux Falls) won the individual championship by four shots over a group of five golfers as the Coyotes finished fifth in the overall team competition with a score of 602, just eight shots behind winner the University of North Dakota. Bennett shot a round of 70 during Sunday��?s opening round and then followed that with a 72 Monday to secure the title. USD��?s Jim Walsh fired a two-day total of 150, which included a round of 76 on Sunday and 74 on Monday. Walsh finished in a tie for 10th. Matt Campbell (Jr., Aberdeen) shot rounds of 76 and 79 to finish at 155 for the Coyotes, while Gavin Fawbush (Jr., Madison) shot rounds of 78 and 77 to finish at 155 as well. Kyle Scalon (Soph., Stillwater, MN) added two rounds of 83 to finish at 166. In addition, two USD golfers competed as individuals. John Vining shot a two-day total of 166 (83-83), while Zach Huth shot rounds of 91-77 to finish at 168. The Coyote men��?s golf team resumes action on Friday, Sept. 19 when it competes at the North Dakota State Invitational in Fargo, ND.
