Preschool Story Time (3-5 year olds) is Mondays from 6:30 to 7 p.m. or 7 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., and Thursdays from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. Toddler Story Time (1-3 year olds) is scheduled for Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., or 6:30 to 7 p.m. Registration is required. Please stop by the library or call Joyce Moore, the childrenâ�?�?s librarian, at 677-7060. Learn bicycling skill and tips with a program, Bicycling Basics, planned on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room.�? This program is being presented by Barbara and Dr. Yelverton, who will share their expertise with bicyclers of all ages.�? No registration is required. Word Games is back on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. The public is invited to play their favorite word games such as Balderdash, Password, Scrabble, or Word Yahztee. Extras word games are welcome. The One Book South Dakota program will hold its book discussion on Sept. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m., at the library.�? The book for September is The Master Butchers Singing Club, by Louise Erdrich.�? This story is about love, death, and redemption for a German immigrant and his wife. They settle in Argus, ND and set up a meat shop. The author has crafted each character with a distinct and multifaceted personality, making this novel both intimate and thought-provoking.�? Copies of the book are available at the end of August. The Vermillion Library Book Club will meet in October. The book for discussion will be The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, by Carson McCullers.�? More information will be available in October. Long-Term care education sessions are being presented by the South Dakota Department of Social Services for Vermillion area residents.�? These hour-long sessions will be held on Sept. 22 at 12 , 3, and 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room and include information on care needs, what Medicare and Medicaid will cover, and how this program can help you.
