Davies and Munkvold participate
in 35th Annual All State Honor Choir Dan Davies and Philip Munkvold participated in the 35th Annual All State High School Honor Choir presented by the South Dakota American Choral Directors Association.�?  The weeklong activity held at Augustana College culminated in a concert on Aug. 1 at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.�? The group was directed by Dr. Sandra Peter, assistant professor of music at Luther College, Decorah, IA and assisted by several section leaders, including USDâ�?�?s David Holdhusen who led the tenor section. The 150 students who were selected to participate undergo a rigorous tryout in the spring where they are judged individually on their talent and musical knowledge. This year, Philip and Dan were chosen from the 350 plus students that tried out.�? This is the second time both students have been selected for the honor choir, and they also have performed for several years in the All State Chorus held each fall.
